King’s Cafe: A Space for Coffee, Conversation, and Community
There is something powerful about a simple conversation.
This May, the Martin Luther King Jr. Center is launching King’s Cafe—a welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and spend time together.
Beginning May 5, King’s Cafe will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the MLK Center Banquet Room. Running through August, the cafe is open to everyone in the community.
A Place to Gather
A space to stop in for a few minutes or stay for the morning.
A space to meet someone new or reconnect with familiar faces.
A space to sit, talk, listen, or simply be.
Visitors can enjoy coffee, conversation, and a relaxed environment designed to feel welcoming and accessible to all.
More Than Coffee
While coffee may bring people in, connection is what makes them stay.
Throughout the summer, King’s Cafe will offer opportunities to engage in simple, meaningful ways. Guests can take part in light activities like puzzles, catch up on the news, or join in on casual discussions that happen naturally around the table. From time to time, there may also be opportunities to learn more about programs and resources available through the MLK Center.
The goal is not to structure every moment, but to create an environment where conversation and community can grow organically.
Building Community, One Morning at a Time
At its core, King’s Cafe reflects the MLK Center’s mission to strengthen the community through connection, support, and shared experiences.
By offering a consistent, welcoming place to gather, the cafe creates space for relationships to form, ideas to be shared, and community to grow.
There is no cost to attend and no registration required.
Just come in.
